It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "MARIE GAGNE (née GOSSELIN), March 28, 1938 - March 5, 2021; Following a lengthy battle, Marie passed away on March 5, 2021, at the age of 82.".
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Arthur; children, Nicole (Klaus), Diane (Aurele) and Robert; grandchildren, Andrea, Karlese, Patrick and Liane; and five great-grandchildren.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, Antoine and Irma; her sisters, Emilienne and Laurette, and her brother Herve. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters, Luke (Joan), Carmelle, Jules (Jeannette), Annette, Claudette (Jean), Camil (Paulette), Roland (Marilyne), Lynne (Rene) and Richmond (Doris), as well as by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Marie grew up in St. Malo, Manitoba where she met her husband Arthur. They moved to Winnipeg to begin a new life. Marie's first priority in life was her children and grandchildren.
Marie welcomed family and friends into the home without any hesitation, and was always able to put together a meal and put on a pot of coffee. Marie also had a big heart for anyone who was facing difficulties no matter who they were.
A very long battle with serious medical issues showed her courage in facing these challenges with an amazing attitude and Marie came out a "hero" and stayed strong until the very end.
Our thanks go out to the wonderful staff at Dialysis at the St. Boniface Hospital and to Actionmarguerite St. Boniface for the wonderful care they have given to Marie over the years.
Due to COVID restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie's memory to the CancerCare Manitoba or the Kidney Foundation.
