The story has been brought forward to this site as follows:

That was a very memorable day for me as I was a flower girl .    I had a wonderful pale pink dress with a velvet sash  made specially for me and new shoes which was pretty amazing for war times so somebody sacrificed their coupons for me and a bouquet of pink rosebuds and blue cornflowers. We got to travel in a car to the church which was very exciting and  I felt like a princess and I fell in love with the best man  who was gorgeous.Sadly I think his eyes were turned by the other bridesmaid - Auntie Edith's best friend - who was very beautiful and wore white organza with little blue flowers and a romantic hat  and she looked very dreamy.   Very few chaps as they hadn't come back except for Cousin Albert Eric and also my Big Brother looking very smart with Brylcreemed hair and  Auntie Rita and Auntie Mac and my Ma were there all looking very glamorous.  Great Uncle Harold was so proud to give Aunti
