He was predeceased by his father Alexander; mother Tillie; brothers, Nick and Joe; an".d sister Ann. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Bernice; his brother John (Helen) sisters, Mary (John), Frances (Gary) and Teresa (Cliff) sons, Jim (Kathie), Larry (Helga) and Cory; stepdaughters, Charlene (Trevor) and Darlene; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mike was born in Rathwell, MB, and later moved to Winnipeg Beach. He worked in the concrete construction industry for 38 years and in 1976 started his own business with his sons. After retiring in 1991, he spent many joy-filled hours on his farm, raising cattle, gardening and teaching his grandchildren to drive the tractor. Mike enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing, going to bingo with Bernice, morning coffee with his buddies at Highway Trails, and sitting around the kitchen table with family and friends. His generous and gentle soul never turned away anyone in need. His pallbearers will be Craig Pawluk, Ronnie Schmidt, Lawrence Stusky, Wayne Dola, Terry Halischuk and Raymond Kutcher. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10 at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk. A viewing will be one half hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 102 - 310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
