Georges a toujours vécu à La Broquerie.

GEORGES BOILY
Sadly, we announce the passing of Georges Boily on December 12, 2019 at the age of 93.
He leaves to mourn, his wife of 62 years, Béatrice Freynet, and his children: Mario (Linda), Richard (Liana), Michelle (Jeff) and his grandchildren: Joel (Cheryl), Danielle (Reece), Miguel, Renée (Kyle), Zachary and Éric. He was impatiently awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild in March 2020.
In 1957, Georges married Béatrice, and together they raised a family of three children. Georges took pleasure in spending time with his family and he had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.
Self-taught, passionate about geography and literature, he enjoyed listening to music and reading daily newspapers and French authors. He also loved cheering on his favourite sports teams, the Montreal Canadiens and the Expos. Accompanied by Béatrice and sometimes their children, he had the pleasure of travelling to Europe and within North America.
As a young man, Georges took possession of the family farm. In 1961, he became a building contractor specializing in the construction of agricultural and residential buildings thereby promoting job creation in the community for 25 years. His last business endeavour was the acquisition of a metal recycling company in Winnipeg.
A lifelong resident of La Broquerie, he contributed greatly to community life. He served on the municipal council from 1958 to 1962 as Councillor and as Reeve from 1964 to 1972. During his tenure, he served everyone with justice and equality.
His generosity, sharp sense of humour and keen intellect have created many wonderful and lasting memories which will be a constant source of comfort to his family and friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 19, at 10:30 a.m., preceded by the eulogy at 10:15 a.m., at the St. Boniface Cathedral. Interment will take place at a later date.
Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca.
