      ----------------------------------

He leaves to mourn many nephews, nieces, and their families.
Marcel's parents immigrated to Canada from France in the early 1900s. Marcel was born in St. Claude, Manitoba on May 29, 1921. His early schooling consisted of four years at St. Benoit School in St. Claude and two years at Emberly School south of St. Claude in the Rural Municipality of Dufferin.
From 1936 to 1944, he continued his education at Collège de Saint-Boniface where he completed his high school and earned a teaching certificate. Due to the ongoing war at the time, he returned to St. Claude for one year prior to starting his teaching career. Since 1945, he has taught at all levels at a variety of places such as Teulon, Morden as well as at Louvin and Kenneth schools, both in St. Claude. He then moved to Winnipeg where he taught in St. Charles and St. Vital for many years.
Around 1980, Marcel retired from teaching and did a six-month term as a farm milk inspector before retiring completely at age 59.
When he was in his late 40s, a pretty lady by the name of Henriette Palud caught his eye and they were married on August 15, 1970. They lived in old St. Boniface all their married life. Henriette passed away in 2010 and Marcel moved to Place Aulneau in 2014 also in old St. Boniface and eventually to Foyer Valade in St. Vital in 2019.
Marcel enjoyed going for long walks in St. Boniface, Norwood as well as downtown Winnipeg. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, and travelling. He visited many different cities and places in Canada, the United States and Europe. His last trip was to Cuba at the age of 92 years old.
A good man who enjoyed and appreciated socializing with family and friends, he will be missed. May he rest in peace.
