OVILA J. GOSSELIN (1920-2003) Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Ovila Gosselin passed away on April 10, 2003 at the age of 83. Left to cherish his memory are his dear wife, Lucille (Desrosiers), and his 11 children, Louis (Paulette Ruest), Eveline (Jean-Guy Lecuyer), Solange (Raymond Saucier), Yvonne (Henri Coulombe), Lise (Michel Courcelles), Juliette (Jim Casson), Angele (Marc Hamonic), Gilbert (Connie), Huguette (Robert Trudel), Lucie, and Francois (Heidi) 27 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. He also leaves his Gosselin, Maynard and Desrosiers brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Ovila has joined Cecile (Maynard), his beloved first wife and mother of his children (deceased in 1981) and his son, ptit Raymond (1956). His ten brothers and three sisters also predeceased him. Ovila will be remembered for his desire to provide the very best for his family. He was a hard worker and a cherished and exemplary husband, father and grandfather. He wasnt a man of many words; his silence was golden, but we knew how much he took great pride in the achievements of his children. Ovila left a legacy to his family: great faith in God, sound work ethics, love of nature, land and the lake, more specifically Bocage CeVila. He instilled in us his strength, courage, and determination. Ovila was a man of his word, of great integrity and conviction. Well-respected, he believed in honesty and justice. "Ti-Vila" was an upstanding citizen and served on many boards and committees of his beloved St. Malo. As a farmer, provincial park employee and campground proprietor, Dad managed to provide for his family and touched many lives. Dad, thanks for a lifetime full of memories; you are forever remembered in our hearts. We express our sincere gratitude to Lucille for her constant caring, support and love toward Papa. Also, our family wishes to thank all staff at the St. Malo Chalet Malouin and St. Pierre Repos-Jolys for their kind and compassionate care. If family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Centre medico-social de Salaberry. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m., viewing and prayers at 1:30 p.m. at St. Malo Church, St. Malo, MB. Presiding will be Fr. Joseph Choiselat, assisted by Deacon Louis Gosselin. "Partons la mer est belle..." Bon retour a Saint-Malo...cher Papa. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements
