This cemetery and an early Roman Catholic Church were established in about 1899 by the Missionaries de La Salette of France. Shortly after, the Lasalette Fathers moved at least five graves from the Boissard family burial site (SE 14-8-7 W2) into the consecrated grounds of their newly established cemetery.
