      SIMONE MADELINE YVONNE AMINOT (VANDENDORPE)
      March 10, 1935 - February 12, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Simone, on February 12, 2022.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ronald of 66 years; her children, Daniel (Michelle) and Carol (Bryan Rach); her grandchildren, Meaghan (Jaret Friedrich), Brittany (Patrick Bruce), Kylee and Katelyn; her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mason, Logan and Sophie. Also left to remember her are her sisters, Annie Baete and Mary Robitaille; brother Rene (Irene Vandendorpe;) and brother-in-law Jim Gibb. She is predeceased by her brothers, Gerard and Albert; sisters, Germaine Gibb, Angele Lesage, and infant sister Yvonne; brothers-in-law, Mike Baete, Denis Robitaille, Roland Lesage; and sister-in-law Margaret Vandendorpe.
Simone grew up in Altamont and Ross, MB, where she attended school and was involved in the 4H Club. She spent many years helping her family taking care of her younger siblings, as well as cooking, canning and many other chores. She met her loving husband of 66 years, Ron in Altamont at the weekly Saturday night dance where they enjoyed listening to the Altamont Orchestra play. They were married on November 5, 1955, and began their married life in Somerset, MB, before moving to Transcona, their forever home. Simone spent many years babysitting for others in her home, children she loved as much as her own. She loved travelling with her family to many places, but her favourite was to their cottage at Lake Manitoba Narrows. Simone had her work cut out for her fishing alongside her husband, Belgian bowling in the backyard with friends and sitting by the firepit. Simone was known for her daily walks, and would bring her grandchildren with her at times, only with a warning to keep up the pace.
Simone enjoyed retirement with her husband by travelling across the United States and visiting family in British Columbia. Saturdays were spent playing cards in the basement, tunes on the guitar by Ron and a few rounds of cribbage with a hockey game or curling always on in the background. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her four granddaughters.
The service will take place on Thursday, February 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 710 Roanoke St., in Transcona. Capacity is limited and proof of vaccination and masks are mandatory. For those who cannot attend, but wish to join the family virtually, may do so by visiting Simone's memorial page at seasonsfunerals.com and clicking on the photos and videos tab.
Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks to all the staff and volunteers at Park Manor Personal Care home for giving Simone such compassionate care over the years.
Anyone who wishes to make a donation, can make one to The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
