MARIE-PAULE (ARBEZ) GAUTRON, BORN: SEP 10, 1928, DATE OF PASSING: FEB 24, 2008; It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marie-Paule after a valiant battle with cancer, on February 24, 2008 at the age of 79. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are her husband André Gautron, daughters Lise and Nicole (Douglas), her son Alain (Valérie), and five grandchildren: Ivan, Katya, Anya, Antoine, and Juliette. Marie-Paule was born in St. Claude, Manitoba on September 10, 1928. After attending Normal School, she taught in Haywood, St. Rose, St. Norbert, and in France. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering at La maison Gabrielle-Roy . The entire family celebrated Mamie and Papi's 50th Wedding Anniversary in August 2007. Prayers will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street, on February 29 at 7:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at St. Boniface Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1. Cremation will follow, and a private interment of cremated remains will take place in Haywood Cemetery at a later date. The family thanks Dr. Jan and Dr. St. Godard as well as the nurses and staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care. Thank you to the many relatives and friends for their prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marie-Paule to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 409 Taché Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
