Reason why I am assuming Marie Angelique Makwa was Wabanaki is because her birth place ( Lesser slave Lake Harrington Quebec) was where the Wabanaki's camped. She could of been a daughter of Mohawk/Anishinaabe woman. I am assuming The lake got it's name because the tribe brought their slaves there.
MAKWA: could be Anishinaabe for Bear which is spelled correctly but Wabanaki has The name Matgwa which sounds similar to Makwa. Matgwa means Rabbit (look below)
