Rick Dondo's Family Tree
Saint James, Manitoba, Canada
Tree: Rick Dondo's Family
Notes:
Following Manitoba's entry into the Confederation of Canada in 1870, this place became the cultural and adminstrative successor to the previously socially and culturally significant area known as the Parish of St James, Red River Settlement, Rupert's Land, British North America
With the amalgamation of multiple administrative authorities in 1972 under one civic government, this is now a "neighbourhood" in the administrative area formally known as Greater Winnipeg, but generally called just "Winnipeg". An understanding of its once formal boundaries is now increasingly rare among the local population.
There are currently 236 such divisions of the land administered by the City of Winnipeg and most of those are now only portions of the larger cities and towns that existed previously. They are, most often, pieces of land developed and named as housing and industrial projects at some time. For more details of the borders that separate them, your host refers you to this Open Data page maintained by the City. (Source: City of Winnipeg)
