It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "Claude Hince, June 13, 1959 - February 6, 2024 (age 64); With great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Claude Hince at his residence in Morden, Manitoba on February 6, 2024 at the age of 64 years.".

Left to cherish his memory are his life partner, Shelley Krassman and his brothers and sisters, Gilbert (Denise) Hince, Irène Hince, Pauline (Roland) Marcoux, Anne Hince (Jean-Marc Lagassé), Maurice (Charlotte) Hince, Lucille (Gilles) Chaput, Marc (Gisèle) Hince, Jeannette (Paul) Cormier and his sister-in-law Evelyne Hince along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Claude was predeceased by his father Alphonse Hince, his mother Robertine (née Gosselin) and by his brothers Robert and Jean Hince.

Claude was born in St. Boniface and spent his childhood in St. Claude. He was energetic, dynamic, resourceful, and demonstrated at an early age a willingness to help others. He shared a paper route with his sister, played hockey and later on became a hockey coach. He graduated from St. Boniface College in 1977 and worked at a few jobs before finding his life’s work. Claude was very proud to be a Canadian Border Services Agent working at different border crossings in Manitoba as well as a short stint in Iqaluit, retiring with 35 years of service in 2016.

Claude shared his life with Shelley. They had worked together at the border and were each other’s soul mates and confidant through good and bad times. Claude was very close to Shelley’s mom Myrna and her family as well as very special friends Garnett and Marion from Manitou.

Claude had a big heart and he would always be ready to lend a hand whenever he could with a smile and good sense of humour. He enjoyed sitting around a campfire, hunting, fishing, watching Nascar races and hockey games. He was a Montreal Canadiens fan but later changed to Chicago Black Hawks (to much of his family’s dismay) and also was an avid Saskatchewan Rough Rider fan. He and Shelley would travel to Saskatchewan to cheer on their team. He did construction work and took a log-cabin-building course, successfully building one at Pelican Lake. Claude was instrumental in the restoration of the Monks' cemetery portal which was installed in the St. Norbert Parish Cemetery last September 23, 2023. He was presently restoring an old Chevy truck before his time sadly ran out. There are few people that can climb life's ladder all the way to the top. Claude did it many times. Often he carried others on his back, up that ladder. This world has lost an extraordinary human being. Those who knew him well are very fortunate. Those of us he loved are truly blessed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Homes for Heroes and/or Veterans' House Canada.
