Charles Mathurin Philippot; May 18, 1929 - January 9, 2024; It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Charles (Charlie) Philippot of St. Claude Manitoba at the age of 94 years on January 9th, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Leonie (Peggy) née Rey, his two daughters Evelyn (Michel Bernard) and Claudette Philippot. Ba also leaves cherished memories to Christian Bernard, his only grandchild and wife Stephanie Miller as well as great-grandchildren Sophie and Brody Bernard.

Charlie is also survived by his sisters Madeleine (Charles Dedieu) and Roseline Oed, his brother Guy (Georgette) and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Jean-Marie and Anne-Marie Philippot, brothers: Jean-Marcel (Lina), Robert (Annette), Louis (Anne-Marie), Roland; sisters: Sidonie (Jean Préjet), Thérèse (Alphonse Jacques) and Suzanne Sabourin, brother-in-law Charlie Oed and beloved son-in-law Howard Rach.

Dad had a passion for nature and farming. He also possessed a natural born talent for music. His dream was to perform music in the style of Canadian legend Wilf Carter as well as Johnny Cash, Hank Snow with his guitar, accordion, and harmonicas, all while wearing his signature, Cowboy Hat. He believed in living a simple life, never shied away from saying what he thought and from doing things his own way. He was strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits defined Charles. They were part of who he was, and these traits undoubtedly helped him deal with life’s challenges. A tough exterior, but a big heart, well concealed inside. He brought lots of laughter and fun throughout his life to others with his unique way of storytelling.

We know that he is free from pain and playing music again, with the Philippot Playboys Revival Band!

We will always love and miss you!

No formal funeral service has been planned at this time.

Adam’s Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
