LILIANE ALINE MARIE GUIGUENO, 1945 - 2023; It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Liliane Guigueno on Sunday, April 2, 2023 in Winnipeg at the age of 77 with family at her side.
She leaves behind to mourn her sister Marie Cadieux; her brother Roland Guigueno (Jacqueline); her brother-in-law Roland Chaput; her nieces and nephews, Nicole, Marcel, Justin, Valérie, Miguel, Natalie, Mélanie and Janelle; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends. Liliane was predeceased by her parents, Félix and Marguerite Guigueno; her sister Suzanne Chaput and her brother-in-law Maurice Cadieux.
She was born in Winnipeg and was first raised in St. Claude, MB and then Winnipeg. She had a long rewarding career with the Federal Government working in what is now called Service Canada. She retired in 2004.
She had the good fortune to travel to Hawaii, Jamaica, Europe and several Canadian and American destinations (some to meet up with her snow-birding parents down south). In her retirement, “Lilliput”, as she was sometimes lovingly referred to by some family members, enjoyed meeting up with friends at the St. Vital mall food court on a regular basis. In the summer, she would partake in rounds of golf at Harbour View and Shooters. She was an avid reader of books and was always good at finding great deals when she was out shopping. She also looked forward to the companionship, conversations and snacks during Happy Hours at the Enclave.
Dear Lil, you will be greatly missed. Merci pour tous les bons souvenirs.
Those who wish may make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. We would also like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Center for the care they provided to our sister, aunt and friend. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
