Denis est prédécédé par ses parents, Auguste et Rosabelle Rosset, ses beaux-parents, Michel et Anaïs Picton, ainsi que ses frères, sœurs, beaux-frères et belles-sœurs; Rose (Emile) Fay, Angèle (Réal) Laliberté, Annette (Gaëtan) Cormier, Albert (Marie) Rosset, Marie (Lucien) Gauthier, Gilbert Rosset, Donald Rosset, Roland Philippe, Michel (Cécile) Picton, Thérèse Picton, Denis Picton, Robert Picton, Elie Picton, Georges (Muriel) Picton, Georgette Picton, Louis Picton et Gilberte Picton.
Denis est né à St-Claude le 31 octobre 1937. Jeune, il déménagea avec sa famille à la ferme actuelle où il œuvra jusqu’à sa retraite. Avec ses frères et sœurs, il fréquenta l’école Baron jusqu’à l’âge de 15 ans et travailla la ferme avec son père, Auguste et son frère, Albert.
Denis épousa Louise le 29 juillet 1961. Ensemble, ils ont élevé quatre enfants : Jeannine, Myriam, Michel et Danielle. Avec Louise, Denis a beaucoup voyagé au Canada, aux É.-U. et en France, entre autres endroits.
Denis avait une joie de vivre contagieuse et un sens de l’humour aiguisé. Toujours souriant, il approchait les gens avec aisance et démontrait une belle ouverture et une curiosité pour le monde qui l’entourait. Bienveillant, Denis adorait passer de bons moments en compagnie de sa famille et de ses amis.
Il aimait beaucoup les chevaux (entraînement, attelage, course), la chasse et la pêche, la lecture, la musique country et la choral d’église, en plus de cueillir des morilles et les fruits des bois, de se balader en motoneige ou en quad. Chaque été, il passait beaucoup de temps dans son jardin (potager) et il était toujours fier de partager ses récoltes.
Tout au long de son parcours, Denis contribua généreusement de son temps à soutenir multiples comités bénévoles dans sa communauté, notamment le St. Claude & District Game & Fish.
La famille aimerait remercier les équipes traitantes d’Action Cancer MB et des Soins Palliatifs Santé Sud, ainsi que tous ceux et celles qui sont venus rendre visite à Denis ou qui ont envoyé de beaux messages de soutien.

Denis Rosset passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 6, 2025.
He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Louise (née Picton); his children, Jeannine (Don) Guyot, Myriam Rosset, Michel (Dawn) Rosset and Danielle (Doug) Stephenson; his grandchildren, Jérôme (Rebecca), Eric (Brittany), Stephan, Jocelyne (Jessie), Marc (Taryn), Aaron (Devyn), Béatrice and Catherine, and his great-grandchildren, Heidi, Abby and Carson. He also leaves to mourn his sister Claudette Philippe and in-laws, Jeannette Rosset, Monique Rosset, Pauline Picton, Hélène Drobko, Hélène Picton and Edmond Picton (Yolande), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Denis was predeceased by his parents Auguste and Rosabelle Rosset; his parents in-law, Michel and Anaïs Picton; his brothers, sisters and in-laws, Rose (Emile) Fay, Angèle (Réal) Laliberté, Annette (Gaëtan) Cormier, Albert (Marie) Rosset, Marie (Lucien) Gauthier, Gilbert Rosset, Donald Rosset, Roland Philippe, Michel (Cécile) Picton, Thérèse Picton, Denis Picton, Robert Picton, Elie Picton, Georges (Muriel) Picton, Georgette Picton, Louis Picton and Gilberte Picton.
Denis was born in St. Claude on October 31, 1937. In youth, he moved with his family to the current homestead where he worked until his retirement. Like his brothers and sisters, he attended Baron school until the age of 15 and worked the farm with his father, Auguste and his brother, Albert.
He married Louise on July 29, 1961 and together they raised four children: Jeannine, Myriam, Michel and Danielle. With Louise, Denis travelled throughout Canada, the U.S. and France, among other places.
Denis had a contagious joie de vivre and a great sense of humour. With his warm smile, he approached people with ease and possessed an openness and curiosity about the world. Denis cherished spending time with family and friends, near and far.
He loved horses (training, hitching or racing), hunting and fishing, country music and church choir, reading novels and newspapers, picking morels and wild berries, riding snowmobiles and quads. Every summer, he spent many hours in his vegetable garden, always proud to share his bounty.
Throughout his lifetime, Denis was involved in many local committees, most notably the St. Claude & District Game & Fish.
The family would like to thank the care teams at Cancer Care Manitoba and Southern Health Palliative Care as well as all those who came to visit Denis or sent beautiful messages of support.
