He was predeceased by his wife Doris (nee Olyniuk); brothers, Mike, John, Andrew, Peter, Dan and Nick; as well as his sister Kay in childhood. Bill was born in Hadashville, MB on April 17, 1915 to John and Helen Huzel. He moved to Winnipeg as a young man and found employment with Cream of Wheat (later Nabisco Foods) where he worked as an operating engineer for almost 39 years until his retirement in 1980. Soon after moving to Winnipeg he met his future wife Doris. They were married on January 13, 1945 and together they made a happy home where all were welcomed. He was a member of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral where he served as a trustee and usher until failing health prevented him from continuing these responsibilities. Bill was a gentle man who was both kind and generous to all. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home, especially the staff on 3A where he resided for the past four years and to the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate. The kindness, care and compassion expressed by the Sisters and staff are an example for all to follow. Special thanks to Dr. Taras Babick for his care and compassion. Prayers will be held on Sunday, January 30 at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. We hold you close within our hearts; no distance can divide. For today, in memory's lane, we still walk side by side. Our thoughts are with you, your place no one can fill. In life we loved you dearly; in death we love you still. Vichnaya Pam'yat CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
