Renée is also survived by her sisters Lucille Middleton, Leona Johnson, Gilberte Morisseau, and sisters-in-law Doris Rey and Pauline Wilkes (Herbie). She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Louis, their eldest son Gerald, her brothers Guy and Fernand Rey, sister-in-law Sophie Rey and brothers-in-law Adrian Johnson and Arnold Middleton, her mother Thérèse Belisle and father Adrien Rey. Mom grew up in Haywood and worked at Héberts' Red & White store. She fell in love with Louis and they began their journey together in 1948. They raised their four sons in Haywood and moved to St. Claude shortly after the birth of their daughter in 1968. Mom was a loving and giving person who enjoyed nurturing those around her. She devoted much time to making her home a welcoming place for family and friends. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, crocheting, walking, bird watching and all kinds of puzzles. Mom was always busy and never stayed in one spot for too long. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with her grandkids, playing with them and making all their favourite foods. Mom was exceptionally proud of her little great-grandchildren. She taught us all the importance of family. Due to her illness, Mom spent several months at the Transitional Care Unit in St. Claude. She missed her home, but was happy to share a room with her dear sister Lucille. She truly appreciated the tender care and comfort she received and enjoyed many activities and visits. Mom's sweet demeanour and sense of humour were valued by the staff. Mom's strong faith guided her through her life. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, November 26 in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial video at 1:45 p.m. followed by interment in the St. Claude Parish Cemetery. If desired and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Claude Pavilion or to a charity of one's choice. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
