She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1989; son-in-law Nicholas Dupley in 2004; her paren".ts, Daria and Stephen Pronyk and her brother William. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Michael (Claudia), St. Andrews, MB, Morris (Gladys), St. Andrews, MB; and her daughters, Margaret Dupley, Vancouver, BC, Marion Danko (Joseph), California, Doris Rella (Carlo), Victoria, BC, Sylvia Balamut (Henry), Florida. Lena also leaves 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory. Lena Cheslock was born on November 16, 1910 and was raised in Rossdale, MB. She married Nicholas Cheslock on November 21, 1929. Lena and Nicholas farmed in the Cloverdale area and established Pigeon Bluff Farm where they raised their family. They retired in 1969 and moved to North Vancouver. Here Nicholas and Lena enjoyed the Parklike setting of their home. After her husband's passing in 1989, Lena moved to Selkirk where she resided at the Knights of Columbus Centre and then the Betel Home. Prayers will be held on Friday, February 11 (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. A celebration of Lena's life will be on Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Donald Road, Rossdale, MB with Fr. Soo officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church where Lena and Nicholas were instrumental in helping build the present church. The family wishes to extend special thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Betel Home, Selkirk for the many acts of caring and kindness towards our dear mother and grandmother. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
