      JERRY WOLOSHYN BORN: MAR 24, 1926, DATE OF PASSING: JUN 19, 2011; Peacefully, with family by his side, Jerry passed away at the age of 85 years on June 19, 2011. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Nellie and children: Gloria Woloshyn, Shirley Herlick (Ralph), Judy Woloshyn, Wendy Gambrel (Brian), Randy Woloshyn (Joan), Darryl Woloshyn (Denise), Kevin Woloshyn (Paula), 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Jerry was born in the Ukraine on March 24, 1926. At the age of 12, he joined his dad William (Lena) in Canada where he attended Rossdale School and helped his dad on the farm. His siblings are Alex Woloshyn (Marilyn), Pat Bazan (Bill-deceased), and Stephie Russin (Steve). Jerry was a farmer, worked full time as a meat cutter at various companies and retired from Jack Forgan Meats. At age 62, he became a custodian at the Earl Grey Landfill site. He enjoyed visiting with friends through local coffee shops and auction sales. On Sundays Jerry would take time from his hard working schedule to enjoy family by attending church, the Rendevous Park and many other memorable family outings. Tremendous gratitude to Dr Konrad and staff of St. Boniface Hospital for their loving care and support. Prayers to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at Gilbart Funeral Home on 309 Eveline Street in Selkirk, MB. Funeral service to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church on 530 Donald Rd., Lockport, MB. Pallbearers will be Jerry's seven grandsons: Jeff and Jason Herlick, Kevin, Trevor and Darren Woloshyn, David Prokipchuk and Bryce Gambrel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lockport, MB. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all. He had a warm and loving heart, cared deeply and loved us all. We will miss you so much, but are comforted knowing your grandson Mikey has embraced you with open arms. Dad... We know you are very proud of each and every one of us. It is your love that has nourished this tree of life. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
