Marcel was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn Pattyn (March 2021); his parents, Lucien and Rose Pattyn; and sisters, Lena and Lorraine. He leaves behind, with wonderful memories, daughter Estelle Young; his sons, Richard, Claude (Diane), and Paul; sisters, Cecile (Denis) and Claudette; as well as his grandchildren, Craig, Jamie, Brannan and Meagen; great-grandchildren, Owen and Peyton; and many nieces and nephews. Dad was a loving and devoted father first and foremost. His family was his whole world, and he was always there for all of us. He enjoyed playing crib, crokinole, dancing, and a celebration of anything with his family. Dad had been a Winnipeg Transit bus driver for over 28 years and everyone loved him for his kind and friendly disposition. His greatest passion was for playing music and having his children join him on stage. He had played for the Festival du Voyageur for over 45 years and had collaborated on various recordings for other musicians as well. The family would like to thank the doctors, nursing and support staff at St. Boniface Hospital for taking care of our father. In accordance with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
