      ANNETTE TOUGAS (nee GOSSELIN) December 4, 1944 - January 16, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annette Tougas (nee Gosselin), on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

She leaves behind to mourn her sons, Roland (Dominique) and Mark-Andy Behrens; and grandchildren, Daphne, Rosalie, Matthieu and Nadelle. Annette also leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters, Carmelle, Luke (Joan), Jules (Jeannette), Lynne (René), Claudette (Jean), Camil (Paulette), Roland (Marilyne), Richmond (Doris); brothers-in-law, Louis and Robert; sister-in-law Dianne; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Annette was predeceased by her parents, Antoine and Irma (nee Clément); sisters, Emilienne, Marie (Arthur) and Laurette; brother Hervé.

Annette was born in St. Boniface and was raised in St. Malo where she helped at the family restaurant. She met Léopold Tougas and they were married June 27, 1964. They lived in Ste-Anne and then made their way to Vancouver, BC where they lived for 11 years. They eventually made their way back to Ste-Anne where Annette would work at the reception desk of the Seine Medical Centre for many years.

Annette loved visiting with her grandkids and came over for her daily coffee. She always kept them busy either by playing cards, cooking or shopping at the Thrift Store across the street and hours of swinging in the schoolyard near her apartment. It's safe to say that they were her greatest loves.

Thank you to friends from the Villa Youville, emergency team and the Staff of Health Sciences Centre, for taking such good care of Annette.

The private family livestreamed memorial service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL CO-OP.
