      The story has been brought forward to this site as follows:

      Ramsey (county, Ontario) 9th February 1881, sold the farm to J. Mar...

      Aution sale 21, February,

      1st March, drew our baggage and filled our car.

      2 March, took all the cows and six sheep and a span (team) of horses to Almonte to be ready for starting on 3rd of March.  Left our home 2 March, spent the day in Almonte.

      3 March left Almonte for Manitoba, bid goodbye to Mary and Bella and family and at Carleton Place, parted with William and family.  Supper at Kingston. 

      4 Friday left Port Hope.  All well.  A heavy snow storm.  Seen Lake Ontario.  Got to Sarnia. 

      5 Saturday crossed Lake Huron on steam boat, all safe, snowing steady.

      Sabbeth 6 in Chicago, all at work shoveling the snow on the cars to clear the streets. 

      7 Monday morning got to Milwakie, stopped all day.

      8 Tuesday stayed at village named Milwakie (a bit confusing here), next Watertown. 

      Wednesday 9, Lacrosse Village.&n
