It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "Rose Ann Rudnicki (née Rusywich), July 26, 2019; Surrounded by her family, Rose Rudnicki passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2019, at the St. Claude Health Centre. She was 97 years old.".
Rose lived all of her life in the St. Claude and Rathwell area. She was born in St. Claude on June 20, 1922. She married Tony Rudnicki in 1943 and raised her family in Rathwell. Rose lived there until she moved to the St. Claude Health Centre in October 2018. Rose was a woman of great strength and courage. She loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She worked as a cook at the convent in St. Claude for seven years and then worked in the dietary department at the Treherne Hospital until her retirement. Rose was well known for her cooking skills, her knitting projects and she was also an accomplished seamstress. She loved gardening, watching curling, playing cards and visiting. She was proud of her Ukrainian heritage; there was always an endless supply of pyrogies and cabbage rolls.
Her family mourns her passing and will always have cherished memories of Rose. She leaves behind her daughter Florence (Norman Rey), son Albert (Charlotte), daughter-in-law Dolorese (Rudy); four grandchildren, Jamie (Charmaine) and Kelly (Lisa) Rudnicki, Krista (Rob) and Jonathan (Cassie) Rey; six great-grandchildren, Alexis (Kane) and Nicholas Rudnicki, Noah and Joshua Rudnicki, Carter and Marcus Rey and one great-great-grandchild Bentley.
Rose will be welcomed home with open arms by her husband Tony, her son Rudy, her brothers and sisters and her great grandson Andrew.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the St Claude Catholic Church at 2:00 pm. A sharing of memories and prayers will be held at 1:30.
Donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Green Prairie Lodge in Rathwell.
