It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "JOHN CHIZICK, Born: May 04, 1923, Date of Passing: Oct 17, 2011; It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at the age of 88 years on October 17, 2011 at the Selkir".k General Hospital. John will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Mary of 61 years; daughter Valerie (Darrel); son Gary (Darlene); grandson Chad (Kendall); granddaughter Bridget (Jarrod); and his special great-grandson Davis; and great-granddaughter Carys. He was predeceased by a son Ronald; parents, Alex and Katherine; sisters, Olga, Anne, Eva; and brother Henry. John was born and raised in Rossdale, MB. He served in the Army during the Second World War, then worked for the Manitoba Highways Department. He farmed most of his life in St. Andrews where he and Mary lived until moving to their condo in Lockport four years ago. He also had his own Market Garden Business - Able Produce in Winnipeg for many years. Through the years he enjoyed bowling, trips to Las Vegas, family gatherings and getting together with his coffee buddies. John's family respected him for his hard work, strength, wisdom and will cherish their time with him. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Selkirk Home Care especially Elodie and Sandra, doctors and nurses at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion given to Dad. Funeral service will be held in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6297 Henderson Hwy., Gonor, MB on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing one half hour prior to service. Father Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined and in lieu donations can be to your favourite charity. Rest in Peace Dad! We will miss you and always love you! You will forever remain in our hearts! Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
