It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "LORNE ROBERT DICE (DZIEDZIC) June, 1923 - May 28, 2010; We sadly announce the passing of our father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend Lorne Dice on May 28, 2010 shortly before his 87th birthday. Lorne was born in the Polson District, the nint".h of eleven children to John and Nettie Dziedzic. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Catherine (Kay); his siblings Marion, Jean, Frank, Joe, Walter, Stanly and Aden; as well as his sonin-law Ken Fraser. He leaves to mourn his sister Emily (Toronto); brother Casey (Mississauga); sister Victoria (Barry); daughter Lorna (Don) Winnipeg; sons Dennis (Nancy) Blue Mountain, ON; Bob, Toronto; Dave, Bobcaygeon, ON; daughter Cathy, Sydney, Australia; grandchildren Kirsten, Winnipeg; Darya (Ryan) Vancouver; Gerren (Candace) Winnipeg; Jamiec, Blue Mountain ON; Tyler, Blue Mountain, ON and numerous other relatives and friends. Lorne moved with his parents in 1945 to Grimsby, Ontario to help them with a fruit farm. He married Catherine (Kay) Romanicia in 1949. They lived in Toronto where Lorne worked as a restaurant chef and later as a foreman in a body shop. They moved to Burnt River, Ontario in 1968 where he worked as a carpenter. Lorne and Kay moved to Winnipeg in 1980 where he continued to work as a carpenter. Lorne loved to work with his hands and be able to enjoy the outdoors. The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital Unit 5 South for their care and kindness during Lorne's illness. Prayers will be held in MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon, Tuesday evening June 1, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. and the funeral will be at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Komarno on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, South Polson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Victoria General Hospital Foundation Inc. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
