PAUL JOSEPH GAUTHIER, BORN: JAN 15, 1922, DATE OF PASSING: SEP 15, 2001; Peacefully, at the Tache Nursing Home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family, Paul Gauthier passed away. Paul was born in Fisher Branch, MB. He farmed there until 1956, then moved the family to McKenzie Island, ON where he went to work in the mines. In 1967, the move was made to Winnipeg and he became an employee of the housekeeping staff at the Misericordia Hospital where he worked until a stroke caused his early retirement in 1975. Hunting was his life long passion and he spent many happy times with his son and nephews pursuing this pass-time. Another favourite, was playing his violin. Paul is survived by his loving wife Alma (Dauphinais) one brother Rosaire; his son Elmer (Frieda) two daughters, Dianna and Rosemarie; three grandchildren, Danielle, Kane, and Janice (Vince) Rigg; one great- granddaughter Sydney; and numerous nieces and nephews. Our heart felt thanks to all the special staff at the Tache Centre for their care and support during the eight years he resided there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8, phone: (204) 949-2000. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 19 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Marys Cathedral, 353 St. Marys Avenue.
