Rev. A. Zayac conducted funeral services from the Weiden Catholic church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, for Mrs. Anna Chiupka, of Million, whose death occured in the Dauphin General Hospital on Tuesday, June 26, following a short illness. She was in her 83rd year. Pallbearers were Harry, William, Tony, Lawrence, and Dannie Chiupka and Myron Hilash. Sneath funeral service was in charge of arrangements, and internment was made in the Weiden parish cemetery.
Born and educated in Poland, Anne Smadylo married Wasyl Chiupka in Austria in 1895. In 1904 they cam to Canada to the Moose Bay district, where they homesteaded. Her husband predeceased her in 1927. She retired in 1944.
She is survived by five sons, Jake and Harry, of Million; John, of Detroit, Mich.; Mike, of Moose Bay; William, of Dauphin; five daughters, Mrs. mike Manziuk, Mrs. Carl Yatz, of Toronto; Mrs. Alex Hilash, of Oak Brae; Mrs. John Tompkin, of Winnipeg; Mrs. Nick Pich, of Moose Bay; a brother, Prokop Smadylo,

John Chuipka, age 56, of Los Angeles and formerly of Rorketon, passed away Monday, July 16 at San Bernadino, California. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, July 24, from the Weiden Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, with Father J. Sholdeck officiating. Pallbearers were William, mike, Harry and Tony Chuipka, John Tornkiw and Alex Hilash. Internment took palce in the parish cemetery. Sneath-Strilchuk funderal service was in chgarge.
<p>John Chuipka was born in the Rorketon district and educated in the Moose Bay district. He lived in Rorketon until 1925, when he moved to Detroit to be employed by the Chrysler corporation for 20 years. Then he moved to Los Angeles, where he operated a Tavern for seven years. He married Margaret Schwaluk of Shoal Lake in 1926.Besides his wife he is survived by two sons and a daughter: Edward, Detroit; William, Los Anglees; Mrs. Ronald Drews (Edith), Warren, Michigan; four brothers and five sisters: William, Dauphin; Jake, Mike and Harry, Ro
