John leaves to mourn his wife of 67 years, Estelle (née Clément), his children, Trish, Dianne (Paul) Sambrooke, Gary (Bonnie), Bryan, Michelle (Don) Funk, and Cindy (Harmen) Westra, as well as 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Two other family members held a special place in John's heart -- Wally (Anne) Masniuk and Dave (Irene) Masniuk. John also made many life-long friends, too numerous to mention. John was a shrewd businessman and he was very proud of what he accomplished. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent numerous hours hunting, fishing and flying. John helped establish Lyncrest Airport in Transcona. He was a lifetime member of the Winnipeg Trap and Skeet Club.
