His sisters, Fern Purse, Pat Milburn, Mary Berriault, and Marge Riel. His 15 nephews and nieces, and their children. Ulysse lived in St. Vital all his life working on the farm, in construction, and truck driving. He loved being up at the crack of dawn, jumping in his truck and meeting his friends for coffee. His "Mom" could always count on him for being there, taking her to church, driving her to have her hair done and being on time for her appointments. When he wasnt to be found, he was out at "his shack" in Marchand. He would be remembered by many, shovelling snow, mowing grass or changing a light bulb. He was always an active, helpful member of the church as well as the community. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital and the Tache Centre for the patience and care that they have shown over the last few years. A very special thanks to his friend, care giver and companion Ramiro Herrera who was there daily with care, compassion and support for Ulysse as well as the family for the last few years. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3 at the St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Annes Rd. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ulysses memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949 or toll free 1-888-233-4949.
