Rene will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife Elaine of 48 years of ma".rriage; sister Yvette (Bill) Turin; sisters-in-law Jean and Christine DeLorme; nieces Kim and Toni DeLorme; nephews Dean and Christoper DeLorme; Bill Turin; Roland Timlick; special son Craig Schmidt. He was predeceased by his parents Antoinette (Bonin) and Ovide DeLorme; brothers, Henri, Denis, Roland; sisters, Odile, Helen; niece Linda and brother-in-law Bill Dmitruk. Born in Letellier, MB, Rene lived in St. Pierre during his early childhood. The family moved to Transcona, and after his marriage, he resided in St. James. Rene was an excellent auto body mechanic for many years and took great pride in his work. Later he and Elaine bred and raised purebred Arabian Horses. He loved all animals and took in any cats that were dropped off unexpectedly at the farm by irresponsible owners. Rene was always willing to help others and he made friends easily wherever he went. In compliance with Rene's wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. A private Interment will take place at a later date. A special thank you is extended to the staff on 3 North at the Grace Hospital for their compassionate and wonderful care. In lieu of flowers a donation in Rene's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
