It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "PAUL MAKARENKO, Born: Dec 02, 1920; Paul passed away January 27 after a lengthy illness. He was born December 2, 1920 in Stuartburn, Manitoba and was predeceased by sisters Mary (Lee), Lena (Makarenko), Anne (Wilson), Anneta (Vaschef), Kay (Belvid".ere) and Doris (Maxie). He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Irene, sons, David (Carol), Darrell (Lynne), daughter Paula, granddaughter Melissa, brother John and sisters Rose (Schneider), Helene (Petrow), Jean (Refchuk) and Mildred (Myers). Paul was an RCAF veteran, serving overseas and awarded the Burma Cross. He always enjoyed sports and outdoor activities. He was on the Flying Training School basketball team and the downhill ski team. He enjoyed gliding, curling and later golf. Hunting, fishing and camping were his joy for much of his life. Despite many medical challenges he lost neither hope nor his sense of humour. He was happy to spend his last two years at Deer Lodge Centre and appreciated the time and effort of the many kind folks involved in his excellent care. We thank you. Blow me no bugle Bang me no drum Simply put - my time has come. May his soul through the Mercy of God Go in peace, now and forever. As per his request cremation has taken place. He will be remembered at a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society.
