    • 20190728: I am now VERY uncertain of the idea she underwent a name change. There is evidence of an Elaine Savage from Winnipeg who had a mother Ann. This Elaine would have been about 5 years younger...

      There is also evidence of a James Savage who is buried in Washington state...

      Per an exchange with Chloe of Find a Grave who sponsors the memorial to Ed von Sien:

      "Yes, I knew Elaine. She was a very sweet lady. She was married to my cousin, Ed Von Sien and my parents and I visited them often in LaJolla, CA. I never knew her maiden name was Lasiewicz / Lesewick. Interesting that she changed it to Savage. You don't think that could have been the last name of a first husband? (Just a thought)

      I have often thought about Elaine, and wondered what happened to her and where she was buried. Once Edward died in 1997, and her sister-in-law, Olive (Von Sien) Larson (who she was very close to) passed away in 2004 and cousin, Lydia Beese Beekman died in 1991, my impression is that she went to live with or near family.
