MAURICE DESROSIERS, BORN: MAY 27, 1933, DATE OF PASSING: NOV 18, 2011; Maurice Desrosiers, 78 of Winnipeg, Manitoba, originally from St-Malo, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the St. Boniface General Hospital with his family by his side. Maurice Desrosiers was born on May 27, 1933, the son of Emilien Desrosiers and mother Ernestine (Bourgeois) Desrosiers in St-Malo. Maurice worked for M.T.S. as a lineman for 33 years. He had hobbies such as gardening and working the farm and enjoyed nature and all animals but above all, he loved his horses. From his time as a boy until he moved to Winnipeg in 2004, horses were a way of life for Maurice. He cared for them, loved them and mourned for them. On June 29, 1957, he married his one love, Marcelle (Comeau) and had four children: Gerald (Nancy), Michel (Sue), Rossel (Rachelle), and Roxanne. Above all, Maurice's biggest love in life were his wife, his four children and his grandchildren Kyyle, Kristopher, Katie, Matthieu, Josee and Riley. He took great pleasure in hearing their stories and watching them play and beamed with pride when their names were spoken. Maurice also leaves to mourn, his sisters and brothers, Therese, Leonne, Jeanne, Claire (August), Celine (Stan), Estelle (Alfred), Simone (Claude), Paul (Shirley), Bertille (Lucien), Jean (Edith), Robert (Sharon), Guy (Claire), sisters and brother-in-law, Sr. Aline, Lorette, Donald (Gisele) and Therese (Gerard). He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Anna, Marie, Yvette, and his brother George. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011, St. Eugene Parish, 1007 St. Mary Avenue, with Father Roland Lanoie celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the parish hall. A private family interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family wish to thank Nurse John, and Dr. Doucet for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Maurice to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
