      Paul was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years Shirley, his parents Emilien and Ernestine, sister Anna, brother George, sister Thérèse (Aimé) Trudel, brother-in-law André Barnabé, sister Marie (Daniel) Deschene, brother-in-law Leslie Lipischak, sister Claire (Auguste) Lagassé, brother-in-law Stan Robertson, sister Yvette (Henri) Lambert, brother Maurice (Marcelle), brother-in-law Alfred Marion, brother-in-law Claude Gosselin, brother Jean, and sister-in-law Carol Bergmann, and grandson René (son of Ronald Desrosiers).
      He is survived by his son Ronald Desrosiers (Debra Acton), Richard Desrosiers, and daughter Deanna (Merv) Richardson. Paul will be cherished deeply by his grandchildren Monique (Pat) Huberdeau, Ryan Desrosiers, Nathan (Holly) Desrosiers, Ecko Baldwin, Kaylan and Luke Richardson, as well as his great-grandchildren Arianne, Brielle and Marco Huberdeau and Parker Paul Desrosiers. He will be forever dearly loved by Sherri Desrosiers, Midge Cardoso, sister Léonne Barnabé, sister Jeanne Lipischak, sister Celine Robertson, sister Estelle Marion, sister Simone Gosselin, sister Bertille (Lucien) Croteau, sister-in-law Edith Desrosiers, brother Robert Desrosiers (Sharon), brother Guy (Claire) Desrosiers, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
      Teaching always came naturally to Paul–he was a school teacher for 33 years, where he taught history and social studies in exciting and memorable ways; he also taught lessons on drum-making, hunter safety, and canoeing. Paul was all about family, friends and his people. When he wasn’t out hunting and fishing with his sons, he could be found spearheading the Métis Pavilion for Folklorama and volunteering at the Festival du Voyageur. Paul was a strong member of L’Union Nationale Métisse Saint-Joseph du Manitoba. In 2019 he was awarded the ‘Prix Riel’ for over 20 years of volunteering and his contribution to the french culture in Manitoba.
      The Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Dakota Community Centre (1188 Dakota Street). An interment will take place earlier with the immediate family. We ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
