Elizabeth was born on August 16, 1916, grew up on a family farm near Cloverleaf, MB and attended Hazelglen School not far from the farm. She met Henry Seredynski at a house dance near Beausejour, MB. She was wearing a red dress that caught his eye. They married in 1939 after Henry sold a cow to buy the wedding ring. They had four children and moved to Winnipeg in the fall of 1949. A fifth child Stephen was born in Winnipeg. She enjoyed her part-time job at the Children's Hospital as a nurse's aide. Upon moving to Winnipeg Elizabeth and Henry joined St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church. Elizabeth and Henry were devout Catholics and active in various church activities and groups. Elizabeth was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women's League. Elizabeth was a very spiritual person and had a deep and personal trust in God. She found great peace in prayer and believed in the power of prayer. Her rosary was always by her side and she used it regularly. She served as a role model for her family through the meaning she found in God, which provided her with an abiding love and faith for life and humanity. She accepted her physical trials with serenity, trusting always in God's will. She moved on peacefully into God's arms five days after her stroke, as she always trusted she would.
