      BURIAL: Birth: Mar. 22, 1837 Northfield Washington County Vermont, USA Death: Jun. 13, 1912 Evanston Cook County Illinois, USA Son of George and Electa (Frissell) Cobleigh. Married Georgianna Woodward. On Jan. 1, 1862 he was mustered into "Ford's" Co., Illinois Independent Cavalry. On Dec. 25, 1862 he was transferred to Co. L, 15th Illinois Cavalry. He was commissioned as 1st Lt. and on Dec. 28, 1863 he was mustered into 1st Alabama Cavalry. He was mustered out on Oct. 20, 1865. He was a member of GAR Post #540 (General John A. Logan) in Evanston, Illinois. He is buried in the GAR Post #540 plot at Rosehill Cemetery.
