Adam's Funeral Home Online Obituaries (Web)[SD], (Adam's Funeral Home).
A contributor has cited material deemed to be pertinent to this story.
      It is described as "donat-lesage".

      ---------------------------------------------

It is with profound sadness that we wish to announce the passing of our very dear father, grand-father and great-grandfather, Donat Lesage, aged 92, on September 12, 2018.

He was predeceased by his wife, Denise (née Delaquis), his parents Frank and Clémentine Labossière; his brother, Eugène and his sisters, Thérèse, Cécile, Agnès and Clémence; his brothers-in-law, Pierre Delaquis, Paul Comte, Victor Pantel, Émile Chabbert and Antoine Bérard and by his three sons Hubert, René and Bertrand, his grand-son, Jérôme, his daughter-in-law Christa Dungl and his son-in-law Joe Marano.

He leaves to cherish his memory his nine sons, Gilles (Janine), Bernard (Jacqueline), Lucien (Mireille), Noël (Estelle), Gérard (Andrew), Martial (Michelle), David (Mireille), Stéphane (Lise), Eric, and eight daughters, Pierrette (Norbert), Monique, Françoise (Kenneth), Aline (David), Catherine, Viviane (Paul), Nathalie (Robert) Sylvie (Steve), as well as 34 grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children. He also leaves to mourn his sister, Yolande, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.

Reserved and inquisitive, Donat devoted his life to his family. Father of twenty children, he dedicated his time for half of his adult life to farming in order to provide for his family. Farm work being particularly arduous at the beginning, he adapted to the technological changes over time. Progressively, seeking other ways to earn a living, he became more involved in marketing, particularly cattle marketing and later in used appliances, transitioning from rural to urban life. Father was not one to enjoy crowds or large gatherings but would not miss the opportunity to have a coffee and discuss with a neighbour or a friend and also with a stranger he would meet on his way. He always kept a genuine interest in other points of view. He particularly valued justice and sharing, having little patience for injustice. In his later years he especially enjoyed spending time with his grand children and great grand children. For us all, he will always remain in our hearts by the ties of mutual understanding which unites us.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff of the Notre Dame de Lourdes hospital and old folks home for their compassion and their dedicated, professional care as well as to all, for your prayers, your support and your encouragement given to Father and to the whole family.

The funeral mass will be held at the Notre Dame de Lourdes church, officiated by Father Alain Guenou, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. with music and a video tribute prior. A private family interment will be held in the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donat Lesage may be made to The Health Foundation Notre Dame (Foyer Notre Dame) or Siloam Mission.

Adam’s Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements. Phone 204-248-2201 or 1-888-400-2326.
