FLORENCE MARIE YOUNG (nee AUBERTIN), BORN: JUL 12, 1928, DATE OF PASSING: DEC 20, 2014; Peacefully, with family at her side, our mother passed away on December 20, 2014 at 86 years of age. Mom is lovingly remembered by her four sons: Bob Hargreaves of Parksville, BC, Jim Hargreaves (Marilyn) of Port Alberni, BC, Bill Hargreaves (Pam) of Vernon, BC and Tim Young (Lynn) of Winnipeg; her four grandchildren Jana Hargreaves (Jesse) of Prince George, BC, Sarah Hargreaves (Drake) of Ames, Iowa, Jamie Hargreaves (Ashley) of Vancouver, and Ryan Hargreaves of Vernon, BC and three great-grandchildren Taylor, Kate and Nira. Mom was predeceased by her mother Sarah Aubertin (nee Gladu) and father Oliva Aubertin, her son Donald Hargreaves, her five sisters and two brothers, her first husband Albert Hargreaves and second husband William Young. Mom worked hard to raise her four sons. She was proud to have run a cosmetics counter at Eaton's, to work as a dental receptionist and to have answered phones at the Winnipeg Free Press before she retired. She enjoyed travelling through the mountains by train, and playing bingo and baseball earlier in her life. Mother's greatest joys were being with her family for Sunday dinners, birthdays, and especially celebrating Christmas. The family wishes to thank the compassionate caregivers at the Poseidon Personal Care Home, Victoria General Hospital, Riverside Lions Seniors Residence and the Charleswood Care Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Respecting our mother's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private gathering will take place at a later date with family and friends.
