ANGELA MARGARET LOUISE DONDO (BARFOOT), BORN: DEC 18, 1974; After a courageous battle with cancer, Angela Margaret Louise Dondo (née Barfoot) has returned home early, to her Lord and Saviour at Notre Dame Health Centre with her family at her side.
Born in Owen Sound, Ontario, December 18, 1974. Angela had a passion for witnessing the Gospel to others. She left home at 17 to travel across Canada with a Christian mission group. It was during these travels that she first fell in love with Manitoba, returning on multiple occasions. After a chance meeting at the Winnipeg Airport Chapel, Jerome and Angela would begin a correspondence, an engagement, a marriage, and then, together, embark on the holy and intrepid task of having a family of ten children.
Angela was outgoing, passionate, principled, loving, intuitive, and determined. Her life, although shortened, was a testament to the gifts and grace that God can bestow, to the love and tenderness a mother can provide, and to the purpose and meaning to be found in the service of others.
Angela is survived by her loving husband, Jerome Dondo and beautiful children, Joshua, Josiah, Jesse, Emily, Joseph, Jonathan, Joachim, Jathan, Lena and Jamin. She is remembered by her siblings, Scott (Debbie), Glenn (Leisha), Rebecca (Scott) and Patrick; her in-laws, Annette (Wayne), Rose-Marie (James), Gerald (Edith), Yvonne, Aline (Peter) and Reginald (Erin). She will be missed by her parents, David and Sonja Barfoot; her grandmother Eleanor Barfoot; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Roland and Alice Dondo; as well as her many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her grandparents, Glen and Verna Barfoot, Donald and Margaret Lane and sister-in-law Lillian Dondo.
A ceremony to celebrate Angela's life was held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the MNP Exhibition Building on the Island, Royal Road South in Portage la Prairie with Pastor Glenn Loewen officiating.
Interment followed in St. Claude Cemetery, with a reception following in the St. Claude Community Hall.
The family would like to thank the all the medical staff in the cancer centre at the St. Boniface Hospital and all the medical team at the Notre Dame Medical Centre for the excellent care they provided during Angela's battle.
