WILLIAM (BILL) BILAN, BORN: NOV 03, 1916, DATE OF PASSING: JUL 01, 2018; BILL Passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Gimli, MB at the age of 101. Left to mourn are his nephew Mark Bilan (Naomi) of Winnipeg, his niece Michelle Bilan, (Bruce Crouter) of Regina, his great-nephews, Tanner, Cole and Torrin, and his dear friend Pat Nuspl. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his sister Mary and his brother George. Bill was born on the family farm near Petersfield on November 3, 1916. He was devoted to the family homestead and remained on the farm until he was almost 80. Even after his move to Gimli, the homestead was close to his heart. In his early years, Bill enjoyed curling, and was proud of his hunting and agricultural awards. He enjoyed hockey and football and followed these sports as much as his eyesight and hearing allowed. Bill was a gentle soul who took life as it came. He never spoke an unkind word and will be lovingly remembered. Bill's family will be holding a private funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in Bill's name to Gimli Betel Home Foundation. Our thanks to all the staff and volunteers at Betel. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
