It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "PAULINE PASIEKA, Born: Apr 04, 1933, Date of Passing: Jul 26, 2021; Pauline passed away suddenly at Gimli Hospital on July 26, 2021.".
She was predeceased by her first husband Adolph in 1963, second husband Tony in 1992, father William Pilatyk in 1992, mother Annie Pilatyk in 2000, son Barry Ciszewski in 2014, and brother Nick Pilatyk in 2018.
She leaves to mourn her son Ken Ciszewski, daughter Carol Ciszewski (Jim), daughter Anne Isfeld (Russell), daughter Barb Hess (Derek), son Matthew Pasieka (Amanda), daughter Margaret LaRocque (Dave), grandsons, Travis Isfeld (Emma), John Jeremy Isfeld (Haley) and Steven Hess (Madison), nephew Peter Pilatyk, along with relatives, friends and neighbours.
Mom was born on April 4, 1933 in Kreuzburg, MB and grew up on the family farm in Foley.
She met her first husband Adolph Ciszewski, they made their home in Husavik and had three children (Barry, Ken and Carol). After Adolph's passing, Pauline met and married Tony Pasieka and had four more children (Anne, Barb, Matt and Margaret). Throughout her two marriages, she farmed alongside her family. Mom was a very hard worker.
Mom loved to cook, bake, knit and garden. She was fabulous at all of them! Her favourite was the summer/fall canning time.
Her garden and flower beds always flourished with her loving touch. Many family dinners were eaten at the farm, notably roast chicken and her amazing stuffing. These times will be missed.
Mom loved playing Rummy, Skip Bo, doing word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and her very favourite BINGO.
She was a big fan of the Winnipeg Jets, her favourites were "Byfuglien" and "Laine". She got to attend a Jets game at MTS Centre just a few short years ago.
Mom loved family get-togethers and the good laughs that were had.
Several years ago she started attending the Adult Day Program at the Gimli Hospital. Special thanks to the ladies that oversaw the program over the years Mom attended - Alexis, Julianna and Gwen. She loved attending, it was a fun outing for her.
The family would like to thank all of her home care aides, Whitemouth Personal Care Home, and her last residence of Betel Home in Gimli. We were so lucky the last seven weeks were here in Gimli and we were able to see her often. Another thank you for the care she received at the end by the ambulance attendants and the staff of Gimli Hospital.
You are still with us Mom, forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, or to a charity of your choice, in memory of Pauline.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Churchyard Cemetery in North Foley. (Willow Creek Road, Road 107N, 3 1/2 miles west of #8 Hwy.). All are welcome to join the graveside service. For those attending, please bring a lawn chair.
