ANNE MARIE JENSEN (nee PELTZ) BORN: MAY 20, 1914; Peacefully on Thursday, October 30, Anne Jensen passed away at the age of 89 years. Our wonderful Aunty Anne has left us a legacy of love, laughter and recipes! Predeceased by her loving husband Harold in 1996; her parents Michael and Agnes Peltz; brother Andy; and sister Ada Preston. Anne is survived by sister Caroline (Joseph) Dancho; brother Adolph (Agnes) Peltz; nieces Wendy (Kennedy) MacLean, Bev (Ahmed) Chabani, Kym (Robin) Dopheide; nephews Glen Peltz, Dick (Rosemary) Preston; and great-nieces Colleen Severinsky and Tracy Preston. She was born in Ladywood, MB on May 20, 1914 and baptized on June 9, 1914. Annes life was a vibrant one, full of love and laughter because that is what she so believed in. She spent her days giving to others; making muffins or soup for ailing neighbours. Anne was always there to help settle nieces into new homes or make sumptuous meals for family and friends. Her compassionate heart responded whenever she heard of the suffering of others. Anne held terrific parties - and was the life of them all! When her husband Harold owned Jensen Motors, she singlehandedly made a giant turkey dinner with all the trimmings for dedicated employees and clients every Christmas! Her Baklava was mouth-watering - she was a gourmet before they even thought of the magazine! Anne never forgot a birthday - any celebration at her house was a special treat. She was a familiar sight in her neighbourhood, faithfully walking her dog many times a day. One of her great passions was her beloved dachshunds - every "Fritz" was cherished. She loved all her nieces and nephews as her own - treating them to summer vacations at Dorothy Lake/Rush Bay garage concerts at her lovely riverside home and new outfits at Christmas. She was our familys "Miss Manners" and taught all the kids about the finer things in life. She opened her heart and home as nieces and friends, children made their way through University and this puzzle called life. Anne and Harold were non-judgmental and always supportive. And Anne was a beauty - in both appearance and soul. We shall miss her singing laughter and wit and are blessed to carry her grace and memory with us all. Anne spent her final years at Golden West Centennial Lodge. Many thanks to the wonderful staff and special thanks to Anne Douma and Pat Brooks, her dedicated LPNs, who became extended family to Anne. Words cant express our loss this day. Donations may be made in Annes memory to the Alzheimers Society, Unit 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. A memorial service for Anne will be held on Friday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Road. A reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
