Kidwell, 91, died Monday afternoon in a local rest home following a lingering illness. She was born in Pocahontas, W.V., May 15, 1875, and moved to Pomeroy with her parents at the age of 10. She married Charles H. Kidwell at Pomeroy Dec. 18, 1892. They moved to Idaho for a short time, later homesteaded at Laurier, where they operated a post office and store for 35 years. Mrs. Kidwell was a member of the Baptist Church and was a past member of the Eastern Star at Shelton. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Vera Duffield and Mrs. Helen Anderson both of Wenatchee and Mrs. Lillian Bussler, Colville; one son, Wayman Kidwell, New Westminster, B.C.; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  One son died in 1930 and a daughter in 1946.
