It was described specifically or transcribed by them as "JEAN (GAINYA) WAZNY (GARBOLINSKI); BORN: APR 19, 1944, DATE OF PASSING: APR 23, 2010; On Friday, April 23, 2010, with her loving family by her side, Jean Wazny passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 66 years. Remaining to forever c".herish Jean's memory are her sisters, Sally Schultz, Debbie Allard (Raymond); brother Norman Garbolinski (Betty); and constant companion, her pet bird Sissy who was very dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her husband Edward (2002); parents Michael and Mary; and brother-in-law Joe. Jean was born April 19, 1944 and was raised in Lowland, Manitoba. Once she left Lowland for Beausejour, Manitoba she got her first job at Western Peat Moss as a cook and then went on to work at White Sands Restaurant. This paved the way for her excellent cooking skills which will be sadly missed by family and friends. Jean had a natural ability to care for the elderly, speaking both Ukrainian and Polish helped her in her position as a Home Care Worker for North East Health Association where she was employed for several years. Being a very sociable lady Jean enjoyed being around groups of people. This was evident with her regular evening outings playing bingo. Her love for gaming paid off for her when she tried her hand at Club Regent Casino and won $34,000 in 1993. Jean was a generous person so her family became winners as well when she shared her windfall with them. Jean loved children and while she did not have any of her own this love kept her surrounded by several nieces, nephews and her baby brother and sister who she was very close to. This family atmosphere was evident on the farm she shared with her late husband in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. On Saturday, May 1, 2010, Jean's Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue with Deacon Stefan, presider. The family would like to thank the S.I.C.U. and M.I.C.U. at the Health Sciences Centre for their excellent care, kindness and compassion they displayed not only to Jean but to us; it truly helped us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Jean you will be missed.
