She taught in a one room country school at La Fontaine School, East of Deerhorn; completed a Secretary / Stenographers course at Robertson's College; and worked in payroll at the St. Boniface Hospital. She married Carl in 1963, moving to a farm in East Selkirk. She continued to work, at a bank in Selkirk, until staying home to raise her girls and helping on the mixed livestock and grain farm. Lorraine was very active with her daughters in all their activities. driving them everywhere. She loved music, especially fiddle music; loved dancing to polkas, loved reading, family and her faith. Lorraine was a great hostess and loved having farm parties. She loved her huge gardens, canning and cooking. She was the organist for many years at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and was involved with the Catholic Women's League. In the last years of farming they operated a Raspberry U-Pick and sold corn and tomatoes in Winnipeg. They loved travelling and continued to travel after moving to Winnipeg. Lorraine was the glue in the family and loved having dinners at their house for any occasion. She really loved her grandchildren, making cookies and took pictures of every get together. She also liked to be involved in charity and became an active member of the Honduras Mission Circle. Carl died in 2007 and Lorraine eventually moved to L'Accueil Colombien in St. Boniface. There she played the organ and met many of the residents including Edouard and Marguerite. These friends made Lorraine's remaining years very happy ones and they were all very close. Lorraine also attended the St. Boniface Cathedral, took up 10 pin bowling, and went on weekly lunch outings.
