WILFRID ROMEO LEPINE, BORN: DEC 13, 1917, DATE OF PASSING: JUN 09, 2009; Surrounded by his family, Wilfrid passed away peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Ste. Rose General Hospital at the age of 91 years. Wilfrid was born in Forget, Saskatchewan to James and Marie Lepine (nee Humbert). He moved to Ste. Rose du Lac with his family in 1934 where he remained on the family farm until marrying Amelie Fouillen on November 12, 1945. They farmed in the Ste. Rose area until moving to Saskatchewan in 1955 where Willie worked on the oil rigs. Wilfrid, Amelie and their family moved back to Ste. Rose in 1969 where they started a Laundromat. They retired in the early 1980s and loved their cozy retirement home in Ste. Rose. Willie was known to have the best trimmed hedge in town; Willie and Amelie loved their flowers, garden and beautiful cat Menu. Willie was a gentle man who loved the simple things in life, most important to him was his family. He missed his wife so much since her death in 2007 and is now reunited with her and his family for eternity. Wilfrid was predeceased by his wife Amelie in 2007, his son Denis in 1995, his parents James and Marie, his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Emile (Margaret and Berthe), Rene (Dot), Tillie (Bob) Brems, Lilianne (Ludger) Vallee, Maria (Jim) Flower, Blanche (Wally) Powney, Eugenie (Tony) Bonin, his brothers-in-law Louis Fouillen and John Brunel. Willie leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories; His children; daughter Yvette (Don) Lennon of Brandon, sons Andre of Calgary, Gerald (Madeleine) of Winnipeg, Daniel of Edmonton, his daughter-in-law Iris of Winnipeg, his grandchildren Tyler, Jennifer, Amber, Daniel, Josee, Blaise, Noah, and Sydney, his sister Germaine Brunel of Ste. Rose, his in-laws Alex and Therese Fouillen of Ste. Rose, Annette Fouillen of Somerset, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, a special family friend Bonnie Bileski of Winnipeg. The rosary was recited on Friday, June 12, at 1:15 p.m. in the Ste. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Rose du Lac. Funeral Mass followed at 2:00 p.m. Fr. Paul Tinguely celebrated the mass with the interment following in the Ste. Rose Cemetery. Wilfrid's daughter Yvette gave the eulogy on behalf of the family. Active pallbearers were Andre Lepine, Gerald Lepine, Daniel Lepine, Don Lennon, Tyler Lennon and Emile Brunel. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in memory of Wilfrid to Palliative Care at Ste. Rose General Hospital c/o the Prevost Foundation, Box 60, Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba, R0L 1S0
