The story has been brought forward to this site as follows:

HRYHORY BALAMATOWSKI / ANNA DEMBROWSKI FAMILY

Hryhory Balamatowski (Balamutowski (ska in the feminine form)) was born in the village of Trubczyn (Polish) /Trypchen (Ukrainian) in the district of Borszczow (Polish) / Borschiv (Ukrainian), in West Ukraine. He was born on November 30, 1875 to Ivan and Gustina (n.Turanska) Balamatowski. I have been told the name could have been Balamut, but it was better to have a Polish name because of what was happening in the country at that time. (Eugene or Terry Balamatowski mentioned hearing it from Mary Batulla).

Hryhory was baptized in the Greek Catholic faith. He had a brother John who came to Canada, he changed his last name to Dotsky, and his wife's name was Julia. There was one brother who remained in Europe (I don't know his name).
