OLGA EUGENIA TOMKO, BORN: OCT 16, 1919, DATE OF PASSING: MAY 25, 2010; It is with heartbroken sadness that we announce the passing of our devoted and beautiful mother, Olga Tomko, who was in her 91st year, of Winnipeg Beach on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Concordia Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late William James Tomko, and the proud mother of five children who honoured her love and devotion to them in their childhood years by returning that love and devotion to her in her elder years. Mom was predeceased by the love of her life, William (Bill) who passed away in a tragic car accident 54 years ago. In her heart, there never was another who could fulfill the amount of love she felt for Dad. Mom is survived by her two sons, James William (Phyllis), Charles William (Myrna), and three daughters, Teresa Gail (Alain), Judy Marcia (Brand) and Beverley Jean (Albert), 13 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. We all loved her personality and her humour, especially her grandchildren. They all got a big kick out of her feisty nature and her comical remarks. Mom proudly enjoyed the gift of music that dominated our family gatherings, and we will continue to make music with her in our hearts. One of our favourite family songs was You Are My Sunshine and Mom truly was our sunshine. Mom's greatest joy was to be in her beautiful home that Dad built for his family, enjoying her constant family visitations over the years. She had an amazing talent for needlework and anything she had a hand in had to border on perfection. Mom felt there was nothing more gorgeous than a full moon and fittingly the moon was full on the night of May 25. Mom you are now with Dad, holding tightly onto each other and dancing under that moonlight. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at the Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg Beach, with interment beside Dad at the Winnipeg Beach Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, a donation may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Mom, you will always be with each and every one of us, Take It Easy and Don't Speed!
