The following is the information which I have been ab1e to obtain regarding the fate of 25-year-old Warrant Officer II Peter Shmigelsky from Komarno , MB. In addition to the crew of seven captained by Flying Officer L.J. McCulloch, Flying Officer A.J. Stewart was a navigator from #1 (Observer) Advanced Flying Unit. Evidently he was a passenger along for the ride. My sources of information were from the following books: “Hitler’s U-Boat War, The Hunted" by Clay Blair and “U-Boat versus Aircraft” by Franks and Zimmerman.
