Andre was born on July 27, 1926 in Haywood, Manitoba to Claude Alexis Rosset and Andree Perroud. At the young age of 18 he bravely answered the call to serve his country in World War ll.
He married Louise Bonnefoy on October 24, 1953 in St. Claude, Mb, where they lived and raised their 14 children. He was employed at Modern Dairies, first as a Milk Truck Driver and then a Power Engineer until his retirement in 1989. Upon retirement he liked to spend time napping in his garden, fishing with his friend Henri, hunting, carving and having coffee with his buddies at Mama Lou’s.
He will be remembered by his family and friends for his honesty, hard work, dedication to his family and his quiet wisdom. He enjoyed reading and loved to share his carvings.
Left to remember him are his wife of 54 years Louise Rosset; 14 children: Therese Rosset (Brian), Paul Rosset (Jen), Jean Rosset (Gerri), Rene Rosset (Micheline), Jacqueline Vien (Louis), Robert Rosset (Lilliane), Pauline Rosset (Rob), Marie Rosset, Andre Rosset (Debe), Roland Rosset, Norbert Rosset, Lionel Rosset (Jill), Susane McDonald (Gavin) and Ginette Caven (Lance); 16 grandchildren: Lise Thiessen (Tom), Silvie Kozak (David), Anita Vien (Justin), Denis Vien, Michel Rosset, Jerome Rosset, Colette Rosset, Janelle Bernier, Ronald Rosset, Lexe Rosset, Josee Rosset, Bradyn Rosset, Declan Rosset, Tori Rosset, Joseph McDonald and Charlie McDonald; and one great-grandson Alexander Thiessen. He also leaves to mourn two brothers: Charles (Ghislaine) and Guy (Emmy); one sister Claudia Kenny; special aunt Helene Perroud and family; uncle Charles Perroud; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Andree (nee Perroud) Rosset in 1935, his father Claude Rosset in 1977 and by three sisters: Solange, Blanche and Beatrice.
Prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Mgr Roger Bazin officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
